Team Leader and Drill Sergeant
Qualifications and Test Guidelines
The
following is a set of qualifications and guidelines that must be followed in
order to become a team leader or drill sergeant. Guidelines and testing
procedures are subject to change at any time without notice. Members may test
for the team leader position of any team, not just the team that they are on
and only when there is a position open.
Team
Leaders
Qualifications: In order for a member to be considered qualified to be tested
for a Team Leader position, they need to meet the following criteria:
1. Active both in the servers and on the forums
2. Has shown admin level maturity
3. Has a working microphone
4. Must receive 2 recommendations from officers. This includes XOs and above
and also Council and Board members. One must be outside of the member's
division. The recommendations must be sent directly to the Commander in Chief,
X0 from the officers. If the CncX0 believes the candidate meets all
qualifications for testing, he will give the go ahead to run the test. The
test shall never be run until the CnCXO approves it.
Testing: The test will be run by an officer, this includes the same set of
people as before, other than the member in question's XO or CO. The testing
officer will designate one other member who is present to be a witness to the
test. The test must be scheduled with the CnCXO and run on Server 2. The
server will be locked down with a password, and several other members must be
present, this will be explained in a minute. When the test is completed, the
officer running the test will email the results to the CnCXO whether he were
present or not. The CnCXO does a
final review and determines if the candidate is fit to be a team leader. The
following is how the test will actually be run:
All tests will always be run on de_dust. This is because it is the most well
known and most played map making it a more familiar setting for an otherwise
nervous candidate. If they don't know that map, then they don't deserve to be
a Team Leader! The test will start off with the candidate and the testing
officer on the terrorist team. The other attending officer and 5 other members
will start on the Counter-Terrorists. This makes a total of 8 members on the
server, no more, no less. The candidate and the officer running the test will
try to complete the objective (planting the bomb) as best they can although
they are outnumbered 6-2. The purpose of this is to see how the candidate
reacts to the stressful situation because they most likely will not win. This
continues for 15 rounds (most rounds will be short due to the size of the
terrorist team). We are hoping that the candidate does not just give up and
start running in blindly. We want them to try something different every time
and actually try to win and lead their small team to victory. The testing
officer will include the candidates' actions/comments in their report. When 15
rounds are complete, the teams will switch. The candidate, the testing
officer, the attesting officer and one other member will be on the
Counter-Terrorists, while the other 4 members will be on the Terrorists. For
10 rounds, the candidate will have to lead his team toward completing their
objective. After 10 rounds, they all change teams and the candidate will lead
the same team as Terrorists for 10 rounds. At this point, the test is
completed. I estimate that it would take about an hour to complete this test.
Immediately following the test, the testing officer should write a paragraph
or so about how the test went and about the candidates
actions/reactions/comments/leadership skills and email it to the CnCXO. As
stated before, the CnCXO will take care of the rest and determine whether the
candidate will be made a team leader.
Drill Sergeants
Qualifications:
1. Active both in the servers and on the forums
2. Has shown admin level maturity
3. Must be nominated by his/her Team Leader
4. Must have shown knowledge of weaponry
5. Must have shown ability to teach skills in the game
The nomination from the Team Leader must be
emailed directly to their XO. If the candidate for Drill Sergeant meets all
qualifications and their disciplinary report is clean, the XO will email it to
the CO and if the CO approves, the CO must email it to the CnCXO who will then
decide whether or not the candidate is worthy.
