Navy SO Requirements
The following is a list of requirements of NS-SO Drill Sergeant MUST Fulfill. Each Requirement is followed by a brief explanation why it is enforced. To be a candidate for a DS, you must fulfill all requirements. If you find a requirement/rule is redundant, please contact the CO of Navy Division, blue, at blue200320@yahoo.com.
NOTE: if you are trying to be a NS-SO DS, you must get nominated by the TL or the XO/CO of Navy Division.
I will not repeat the Requirements because most of the requirements are TL Requirements listed in the Navy Division NS-SO TL Requirements. But the DS only has to complete the following (including) requirements from the TL Requirements:
1. Must be a NS-SO (TL Requirement Number 1)
2. Must be trusted with admins (TL Requirement number 2)
3. Must have Map Knowledge (TL Requirement Number 4)
4. Must have TL Support
5. CO and XO Support (TL Requirement number 6)
6. Must be more active than the TL
I will explain DS Requirement number 4 and 6 ONLY. Please refer other requirements not listed in the Navy Division NS-SO TL Requirements Page.
4. Must have TL Support
A DS main goal is to give support to the Team Leader. It's like a partnership. A TL can not trust someone who he does not like. The TL picks out a person who he can trust with. A Good DS is someone who the TL entrust with information.
6. Must be more active than the TL
A good DS is someone who can take the TL position when he/she is away, someone to step up to the position anytime. We cannot have a DS who is less active than the TL. When the TL is not present to host the practice, the DS should be there. That is why the DS must be more active than the TL.

Team NS-SO of Navy
Council Submission Version
Below is a list of requirements to enter NS-SO as a team member. The requirements will be explained further more beyond the list. Failure to complete more than one requirement will lower your chance into NS-SO. If you find that some requirements are too harsh or is holding you back in an unfair position, please e-mail the CO of Navy, blue, at blue200320@yahoo.com.
1. Council Requirements
The council has the right to the bases of the team. The council requirements include guidelines of each division draft. Below is the brief sub list of Council Requirements:
A. testing to be on a SO Team should be determined by the CO of the respective Division. (Some
Standards may be higher and some lower.)
B. Only respective division member may be on the respective SO Team.
C. |C| Status members can not be qualified for any SO Team. They must be transferred to the respective division and remain a member in that division for 1 month (30 days), then he/she may be a possible candidate for the SO Team.
D. Honorable or special member may not be added to any SO Teams
E. Removal or additional member of a SO is up to the CO of the respectful Division.
F. Division testing procedures/records must be sent to the council for future references
G. If a SO member is removed (by either own will or CO’s choice), may not join any SO or SSF team within a year (360 Days).
H. Once a team member is promoted to a SO Team, they have left their original team. Team tags must be changed.
I. So team member may be dropped into a normal team in the division after talking to the CO of the Division.
J. Any question about the requirements for the Division are/are not listed should be directed to the CO and XO of the Division
2. Microphone/ headset
A Microphone is required in the NS-SO Team because the team must communicate to each other beside Team Talk. During a scrimmage, a Microphone is more effective than a Team Talk command. If you are being shot at, it's easier to respond on Microphone and shoot back than being shoot at and typing at the same time.
3. An active and constantly used e-mail account
Information on leagues and practice/scrimmage will be e-mailed or posted on the XA Forum. There is no sub forum for the NS-SO Team like the first XA CAL Team had. Private information will be e-mailed instead. Important, urgent and private team information will be e-mailed as well.
4. Counter- Strike Account (NO SHARING ACCOUNTS WITH FAMILY/FRIEND)
You should have your own Steam Account in the beginning, but there are people who shares account with family and friends. This should not be allowed. If the account is classified as a Hacker account and you are banned by VAC System, you lose your position in the NS-SO. Even if it is not your fault, you are off the team. It's your account; you have the responsibility to take care of it. There will be no excuses with “It’s not my fault, my friend downloaded it” or “My older brother was playing an evil trick on me”. We do not care. You should have taken care of your Steam account.
5. AIM Screen Name Account (NO SHARING ACCOUNTS WITH FAMILY/FRIEND)
Conference or meetings between team members will be held on AIM (Aol Instant Messenger). If you do not have an AIM Screen name, go make one. It’s free and simple. There are many kinds of messenger. I found AIM the most simple and easy one to use and it is also free. The TL of NS-SO will set up urgent or sudden scrimmage/practice on either XA Server (must follow XA Calendar), on private server, or on an opponent’s server. The more practice/scrimmage, the better for the team.
6. Maturity/ Team Work
If you are constantly not mature during scrimmage and make the team look like a joke, you will be endangered of Team Removal. If you are not willing to listen to the TL during Scrimmage/Practice, you are also endangered of Team Removal. We cannot have a professional team when a team member does not listen during a practice. For an example, a team is walking towards a bombsite, but you insist on rushing. The TL said no, but you rushed anyway revealing your teams position. You have disobeyed a TL command and ruined the round for the team. We cannot have a person goof off during a League scrimmage. Screaming a foul language over the microphone because you are frustrated is immature and will not be allowed.
7. Time/ Effort
To be a NS-SO, you must have time. There will be scheduled weekly practice(s). There will also be scrimmages. Depending on the TL and DS of NS-SO, there may be daily scrimmages/practice on XA Server (Following XA Calendar), private server, or opponent’s server. League matches are also scheduled during a weekday. If you cannot play on the weekday, then DO NOT join NS-SO. I, personally, never herd of a league which schedules League matches during the weekend.
8. Ventrillo Program downloaded and ready to use
Ventrillo is a program used to talk to different people who are connected to the same server. Get Ventrillo at www.ventrillo.com. The Ventrillo requires a microphone. The SO Teams and SSF are allowed to use Ventrillo during a scrimmage.
NOTE: XA Ventrillo will not be allowed to be used in XA Public Servers.
It’s sad if you insist of using Ventrillo on an Open Server. You must have Ventrillo downloaded. You must know how to use Ventrillo. If you do not know how to use Ventrillo or you are having Ventrillo problem, contact blue threw e-mail regarding the problem (blue200320@yahoo.com). Ventrillo is allowed to be used during scrimmages/League Matches.
NOTE (2): Ventrillo has a problem with freezing you mouse at some time. It’s natural.
9. mIRC Program downloaded and ready to use
mIRC is a chatting program. Like Ventrillo, it connects you to a server to search for challenges. You can download mIRC at www.mirc.com.
NOTE: Remember to close mIRC during a scrimmage or during CS. mIRC may cause Lag.
When a team is looking for a Scrimmage/Challenge, they all should join the same chat room and discuss the challenge. Everyone on the team has the right to discuss the match. If you do not how to use mIRC or you are have a mIRC problem, contact blue threw e-mail regarding the problem (blue200320@yahoo.com).

Navy Division NS-SO TL Requirement
The Following is a list of requirements of NS-SO Team Leader MUST fulfill. Each requirement is followed by a brief explanation why it is enforced. To be a candidate for a TL position, you MUST fulfill ALL requirements. If you find a requirement/rule is redundant, please contact the CO of Navy Division, blue, at blue200320@yahoo.com.
NOTE: If you are trying to be a NS-SO TL, you may nominate yourself. It will, in no way, lower your chance of being a TL of NS-SO. If you have quality and we don't see it, you have the right to show us.
1. Must be an Outstanding NS-SO
2. Must be trusted with admins
3. Must follow XA Rules
4. Must have knowledge of Leagues
5. Must have map knowledge
6. CO and XO Support
7. Must have team support
8. Must be creative
9. Can never be stressed
10. Has to report everything to XO and CO
11. Must know weaponry
12. To teach
13. Passing the server test
1. Must be an outstanding NS-SO
To be a Team Leader of a team, you must be on the team at first. To be an outstanding NS-SO member means fulfilling ALL the requirements of the NS-SO Member page. A normal NS-SO may leave out one or two requirements of some problems, but a TL of NS-SO must fulfill all the NS-SO Member Requirements and NS-SO TL Requirement.
2. Must be trusted with admin
The TL position of all Teams gives you server admin position. The Admin position is a thing that is easily taken away. Normally, if your admin is taken away because of abuse, you are still a TL. In NS-SO, if you're admin is taken away, your position is also taken away. You will be placed on NS-SO as a Normal Member if there is space available. TL and DS admin are not to be abused and is not the police the server when a higher admin is present on the server. A TL must be a good role model for the team and the division. Bottom line: Screw up with your admin, screwed up with your TL Position of NS-SO. Please use reference to the Admin Rule page.
3. Must follow XA Rules
This rule is a second requirement linking to Number 2. If you are caught constantly breaking XA Rules, it lowers your chance or remove you from the TL Position. A TL must be a good role model for the Team and the Division. This means you should not be getting into trouble on XA Server and XA Forums. The CO and XO do not want to baby-sit you because you are a TL.
4. Must have knowledge of Leagues
To become a TL, you must send an e-mail to the CO and XO of Navy regarding this rule. You must state 2 Public online Counter- Strike Leagues (Excluding CAL-O and OGL). You may search the net, we do not care, but in the end, we want you to send us a list of 4 (FOUR) Public Online Counter-Strike Leagues (Excluding CAL-o and OGL). We want the TL to know the varies of leagues and to understand that when the Team is ready, he/she would know which league the team should enter.
5. Must have map Knowledge
You must have played and have all of the following tactic maps:
- de_dust
- de_dust2
- de_inferno
- de_aztec
- de_aztec2
- de_cpl_strike
- de_cpl_mill
- de_cpl_fire
- de_cbble
- de_clan1_mill
- de_clan2_fire
- de_airestrip
- de_nuke
- de_odigy
- de_prodigy
- de_piranesi
- de_survivor
- de_train
- de_vegas
- de_vertigo
- de_contra
The server testing procedure will be placed on one of these maps. The map will be random from the list. It will not be decided until the Xo and/or the Co gets on the server and decides during the last 2 minutes before the Server testing procedure starts. This is to test if you have all the maps downloaded and reviewed already.
6. CO and XO Support
You have to have the CO and XO supporting you for the TL position. If either the CO or XO do not trust you, that may be a problem. We want the TL to be reliable so we can relay information from and to the team threw the TL.
7. Must have team support
Your team members must support you. If your team members do not respect you as a NS-SO member, they will not respect you as a TL of NS-SO. If you have problems with your members, solve it before trying to get into the TL position. Each member of NS-SO will be asked by the XO and/or the CO if you, the candidate, will make a good TL. The members will also be asked if you become a candidate for the TL position, will he/she listen to you. A conflict between members and a TL is not acceptable.
8. Must be Creative
A good TL is a creative person. A person who can make practice fun, often make new tactics, know what to do during a scrimmage. A good Team Leader is someone telling you want to buy beginning of the round, someone who strategizes for the team. Everything the TL does should have a reason. A perfect TL in our opinion is someone who gives commands even at the last moment during the scrimmage.
9. Can never be stressed
A TL can never be stressed. This is a requirement because sometime in the future, you will be stressed by your position. If you are stress, take appropriate measures. Contact your CO and XO to discuss the problem. A Professional TL should never put his own stress on his team members.
10. Has to report to XO and CO
The TL will do a lot of thing such as team scrimmages and team practices. Everything should be reported to the CO and XO. Who showed up for practice, what happen during practice, what the team practiced on, etc. We also want scrimmage results from each round. A screenshot of the end of each round would be nice, a brief paragraph as well. The CO and XO want every information because they are the manager/director of the team. We will want to know what’s going during the league matches and during regular team routines.
11. Must have Weaponry Knowledge
The TL should know all the guns in Counter-Strike. Including weapon names, price of each weapon, and how to use each one.
12. Ability to teach
A good TL will be able to teach each member something new at each practice or be able to deal with stress. You do not see a professor in college screaming at the students because they are not understanding the new materials (The professor will be fired for harassing the students, same as a TL, he/she may be subjugated to removal if there are bad complaints from team members). Instead they will try another method of showing how to understand something with reasons. A good teacher always has good students in the end of the year. A good Teacher has respect from his/her students. Same goes for a TL.
13. Passing the Team Leader Test
NOTE: You must fulfill the Requirements listed above to take the TL Test.
To become a TL, the last requirement must be passing the TL Test with a 75% or higher (a C or Higher). Below is the scoring Sheet:
Below is a brief list of what the XO/CO will look for:
Team Leader Test Score Sheet:
Did the Candidate:
1. Have the map? 25 Points
2. Use his microphone? 10 Points
Was the Candidate:
3. ready for the TL Test? 5 Points
4. Demanding? 5 Points
5. Did the candidate have tactics ready? 5 points
6. Did the candidate have valid tactics? 10 Points
7. Was the Candidate stressed out? 10 Points
8. Was the candidate easy to understand? 10 Points
9. Was the Candidate distracted in anyway way during the Test? 15 Points
10. Did the Candidate teach a good lesson on T side? 20 Points
11. Did the Candidate teach a good Lesson on CT Side? 20 Points
12. Did the Candidate successfully buy Weapon Set 1? 10 Points
13. Did the candidate successfully buy weapon set 2? 10 points
14. Did the candidate successfully buy weapon set 3? 10 points
15. Did the candidate successfully buy weapon set 4? 10 Points
Procedure:
The Test starts off with the Examiner (either/both the XO or the CO of Navy) with the candidate on the server. The map will be changed by the Examiner to a random map listed on Requirement number 5. Both the Examiner and the will be starting on the T side. The Examiner will explain to the Candidate that the test will begin with the Candidate teaching tactics to the Examiner. The Examiner may be obnoxious or very irksome. Either way the Candidate MUST continue the lesson. If the Examiner is surprised in anyway, the candidate will get Plus Points (Extra Credit which limits up to 25 Points). After 25 Minutes of the Candidate teaching the Examiner tactics on the T side, they will switch to CT and continue the lesson on the CT side. For the next 20 minutes, the Candidate continues teaching the map.
After all teaching is done (45 minutes after the test has begun), the Examiner will take control again and stop the TL from continuing the practice. The Examiner will restart the Map on CT side with the Candidate. The Candidate will be tested in Weaponry. The Candidate will be asked to buy some kind of weaponry. There will be total of 4 sets of weapons asked by the Examiner. Sets may include a type of Primarily Weapon with secondary weapon or no primary weapon with secondary weapon. The first two sets of weaponry will be on CT side, the last two sets will be on T side. This is to test both T and CT weaponry.
When everything is over, there should be at least 5-10 Minutes; there may be a break or free time with the server. The Candidate and the Examiner will end the Test by taking off all the cal.cfg back into server.cfg. The results will be reviewed and determined whether or not if you are promoted.
