Flashes
« on: April 08, 2020, 11:48:54 AM »
Bringing this here because there have been multiple complaints/commentary on this topic.

It seems like the flashes we have in the server are lasting longer and brighter than within other servers.  A few have been "timing" the flashes and say that ours last 10 seconds and other servers seem to only last 8 seconds.  Also, is there a setting that the flash opacity/brightness has been adjusted?

Honestly, it's been a help that we can no longer pick up dropped flashes; however it does seem that my screen stays white for a large amount of time.

Anyways, just thought it would be worth looking into.

To me, in most servers they only last 3-5 seconds at max. Here, I've definitely noticed flashes lasting 10+ seconds and it's made even less enjoyable by the fact that I mostly play at night.

I don't buy the whole 10 sec vs 9 sec argument. In my experience, I never tinkered with any flashbang setting, but that doesn't mean there is none.

The other reason for this could be those other servers might be running the newer version of HLDS or they could be running reHLDS.
